TORRE DEL LAGO: A DREAM LOCATION

Torre del Lago is one of the most beautiful areas of Versilia, appreciated even by the famous composer Giacomo Puccini, who used to retire here for long periods. Inspired by the tranquility and the charming nature that characterizes the town, here the master wrote some of his most famous works such as Madame Butterfly, Tosca, Manon Lescaut, the Triptych.

Torre del Lago overlooks Lake Massaciuccoli, a true natural oasis protected by the WWF and extremely full of life. There are in fact many species of migratory birds and small animals that live in the reeds and along the lakeshore.
It’s the ideal place for nature walks on foot or by bicycle.

The town also has a direct access to the sea with long sandy beaches. One of the most popular is the Beach Lecciona that still presents itself to its natural state and without any equipment for tourists. Behind the beach is a thick Mediterranean pine forest ideal for shelter from the sun during the hottest hours of the day, but patches of vegetation are also found on the beach.
